Healthy Walnut & Oat Bars
Whip up a healthy snack or breakfast that is healthy, satisfying and sweet with less than 5 minutes prep time. No special tools required.
Ingredients
For the Oat Bar
- 1 stick Butter
- 1 cup All purpose Flour Substitute equal parts almond flour for a gluten free bar.
- 1.5 cup Rolled Oats You will need Rolled Oats or Steel Cut Oats. Quick Oats wont work for this recipe.
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp molasses if you don't have molasses, subsitite the white sugar for brown sugar. You could also use honey instead which will result in a slightly sweeter bar.
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon or apple spice
- 1 tsp vanilla or maple extract optional
Walnut Filling
- 1 cup finely ground walnuts
- 2 egg whites
